Roof Deck

The roof deck is constructed from proprietary precast concrete planks designed with possible future floor loading in mind. It is laid as a flat deck 65mm below finished floor level in the existing building to allow for a possible future floor screed.

Roof Insulation and Finish

In order to make it easy in the future to strip the roof back to deck level for screeding, Kinspan tapered insulation boards were bedded directly onto the deck and given an asphalt finish.

A series of flat gutters at the lower ends of the tapered roofing were provided with rainwater outlets at intervals slightly offset from the structural grid to enable the rainwater pipes to drop internally adjacent to the structural beams. They were then offset as necessary below the beams to drop where required within partitions/boxing below.
