Report Brief
A fire had occurred in the corridor of the building due to the ignition of an open metal trolley containing dirty laundry and concern had been expressed about the performance of the ceiling during the fire.
This report describes the findings of a site visit to the building on the 11th October 2004, and includes comments and recommendations for the suspended ceilings installed in this type of building.
Although the inspection mainly concentrated on the ceiling systems, comments have also been made concerning the partitions, cavity barriers, and external walls.
