A decision was made by Stoke Mandeville to reclad the East elevation only in the 1st phase of total recladding of the Ophthalmic Unit using Option 2 as the original report
Planning permission was sought and and obtained for recladding the whole of the Ophthalmic Unit.
Specifications and Drawings were prepared and the Project put out to Tender on the 2nd September 1999. Tenders were received on the 1st October 1999 and a contract placed with Stepnell Ltd. The Contract sum being £59,296.00 (excl of VAT)
A start date was agreed as the 10th January 2000 with a contract period of 16 weeks. Contract completion date therefore being the 30th April 2000.
Work commenced on the 10th January 2000. During the progress of the work to the East Elevation it was decided to include the North Elevation as part of this project and instructions were given to the Contractor on the 21st January 2000 to carry out this work.
Work continued to progress to both elevations and the project was completed on the 14th April 2000.
The Final Account was prepared and agreed at £82,255.57 (excl VAT)
